Malinda 'Linda' O. Norris

Malinda Linda O. Norris, 96, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Monticello died at 11:30 pm on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at her residence. She was born on November 10, 1916 in Rensselaer to the late James and Reva (Atkinson) Sayler. Her marriage was to Fred Norris on February 24, 1937 in Rensselaer. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2002. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Monticello and she also attended in Fort Myers, FL. She was a homemaker. She was an artist, painting with water and oil and enjoyed many types of crafts. She found pleasure in gardening, raising flowers, and had a green thumb allowing her to grow anything. She won awards for her painting and also for her gardening, but she mostly cherished time spent with her family. She is survived by 2 sons, Larry (Lucy) Norris of Monticello, Richard (Sue) Norris of Monticello; Daughter, Kay (Ronald) Johnson of Cape Coral, FL; 3 Brothers, Tom Sayler of Ft. Myers, FL, Jack Sayler of Valparaiso and Laverne Sayler of Hobart; 2 sisters, Beatrice Hardman and Irene Hay both of South Bend; 6 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by a daughter Calley Lerma; 8 brothers and sisters; and 2 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of services at 1pm (EDT), Thursday, December 6 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Dale Kirts from Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Monticello officiating services. Burial will follow at Weston Cemetery in Rensselaer. Memorial Donations may be given to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness or to Parkinsons research. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
