Lulu Belle Finley

Lulu Belle Finley, 80, of Monticello, passed away at 11:18 pm, Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Monticello Health Care.She was born on December 29, 1936 in Monticello to the late William and Naomai "Catherine" (Babb) Carpenter. She married Billy Joe Finley in 1954 and he preceded her in death in 2002. She was a 1954 graduate of Roosevelt High School and was a life long resident of Monticello. She worked at Bryan Manufacturing, Burger Chef, and Monon Trailer until her retirement. Lulu Belle devoted a lot of her time helping her mother, Kate Carpenter with cleaning, washing clothes, and ironing.She was an member of the former Twin Lakes Southern Baptist Church. She had also been a member of the Monon Eagles.She enjoyed sewing and cherished time with her family.Surviving are her children, Robert (Greta) Kessler of Monticello, Mary Ann (Gary) Orns of Estero, FL, and Theresa Ann (Dewey) West of Lafayette; brother, Loren Carpenter of Elizabeth Town, Ky; grandchildren, Jordan York of Lafayette, Jessica (Paul) Wendt of Lafayette, and Jason (Kacie) Kessler of Monticello; and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers; and a grandson.Visitation will be on Monday, August 7 , 2017 from 11 am until the time of services at 1 pm celebrating Lulu Belle's life at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church will officiate services.Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F.
