Louvinnie Pyle, 86, of Monticello, passed away at 1:15 pm, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at White Oak Health Campus. She was born on June 23, 1928 in Crofton, Kentucky to the late Frank Benjamin and Ethel (Leanier) Baker. On December 22, 1946 she married Lester Pyle in Croftin, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death. Louvinnie was a member of Lake Shafer Christian Center where she taught Sunday School and was active in the women's ministries of the church. She worked as a nanny from the age of 13 until she married. After her marriage, and while the children were young, she worked in a restaurant baking pies. Her passion and career was to raise her five children to love and serve the Lord. She is survived by her children, Nate (Peggy) Pyle of Monticello, Mike (Sherry) Pyle of Evansville, Joe (Cheryl) Pyle of Urbana, IL, Mark Pyle of Seattle, WA; Carmelitta (Doug) Thompson of Monticello; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Edith Wagner. Visitation will be from 10:00 am (EDT) until the time of services at 11:00 am (EDT) Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Lake Shafer Christian Center with sons, Rev. Nate and Rev. Mike Pyle officiating. The church is located at 1765 N. West Shafer Dr. Graveside committal services will be at 2:00 pm (CDT), Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Fuller Cemetery in Crofton, Kentucky. Memorial contributions may be given to Lake Shafer Christian Center Women's Ministry with envelopes available at the church. Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello is entrusted with care.
