Louise Godlove, 86, of Monticello, passed away 8:00 pm, Friday, January 28, 2022 at her residence.
She was born on May 11, 1935 in Monticello to the late Earle and Gertrude (Tate) Hibner. On December 4, 1955 she married Perry Godlove at the Pike Creek Church in Monticello. He survives in Monticello.
Louise was a 1953 graduate of Monticello High School. She attended Manchester College. Louise was a member of Pike Creek Church, where she was a deaconess and played the piano and organ for over 60 years. Louise worked for the Monticello Telephone office for a short time. She was the secretary and treasurer for Godlove Enterprises and helped build the business with her husband Perry for over 52 years. Louise and Perry would winter in Florida and also spend time at Lake Tansi in Crossville, TN. She enjoyed her family and cooking for them. Louise loved cookbooks, cooking, shopping, tending her flower gardens and traveling. Louise enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Deb (Jeff) Brady of Monticello, Sue Shearer of Carmel and Steve (Michele) Godlove of Monticello; one sister, Geraldine (Loran) Lantz of Delphi; eight grandchildren, Rik Foerman, Marcy (Jason) Foerman-Banta, Brad (Janine) Shearer, Brent (Amber) Shearer, Kent Shearer, Mike (Jess) Godlove, Matt (Companion Toni) Godlove and Brooke Brady; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, February 4, 2022 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Visitation will also be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Metzinger and Pastor Janine Shearer officiating.
Burial will follow at the Pike Creek Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Pike Creek Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
