Lois M. Lindquist, 88, of Monticello, passed away at 2:50 am, Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.She was born on September 24, 1927 in Monon to the late George and Dora (Clark) Bulington. She married Francis "Lindy" Lindquist on October 12, 1946 in Monon. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2000.She was a graduate of Monon High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Pike Creek Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School and was on the church board. She served as Chair of the Church Board Chairman and was Past President of the Women's Fellowship. Lindy and Lois farmed in Wolcott and Monon until they transitioned to Monticello in March of 1973 where they continued to farm even to the present day.Lois loved to tend to her vegetable and flower gardens. She also enjoyed cooking and baking and her family loves the noodle recipe that had been passed down from Lois' mother. Lois enjoyed playing piano at home for her personal enjoyment, she loved reading the Bible and bird watching. She was a devout Christian and was loyal to her church and church family. Above all, she cherished her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.She is survived by brothers, Lowell Lynn of Tuscan, AZ, Zelith (Joyce) of Gas City, and Roger Bulington of Oregon; her children, Leland (Wanita) Lindquist of Craigville, Leota Veldhuizen of Delphi, Georgia Lindquist of Ossian; and Jerry Lindquist of Monticello; six grandchildren, Michelle, Matthew, Jeff, Carrie, Jason, and Sarah; and nine great grandchildren.Along with her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Black; brothers, Creighton, Robert, Edwin Gail, and Maurice Bulington; and two sisters, Ruth Sizemore and Pearl Frederick.Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service celebrating Lois' life at 1:00 pm Friday, April 8, 2016 at Pike Creek Church of the Brethren.Burial will follow at the Pike Creek Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given in Lois' name to Pike Creek Church of the Brethren..
