Linda Novak

Linda L. Novak, 70, of Monticello, passed away at 9:57 pm, Thursday, June 14, 2018 at I U Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.She was born on February 3, 1948 in Chicago to the late William and Henrietta Brock. On January 5, 1985 she married Gerald J. Novak and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2005.She was a graduate of Reavis High School in Chicago and Cameo Beauty School in Oaklawn, IL. Over the years, she worked as a beautician, nurses aid, teachers aid and did respite work caring for handicapped children through Areo Special Education School from which she retired in 1991.She was a kind and gentle matriarch that loved her family with endless devotion. She is survived by five children, Gerald (Tabby) Novak of Romeoville, IL, Christopher Novak of Monticello, John Novak of Monticello, Kim (Rob) Bullock of Little Rock, Ark., Lynn (Scott) Epley of Monticello; 18 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by her siblings.Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello from noon until the time of services celebrating Linda's life at 2pm EDT.Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
