Linda Diane Austin

Linda Diane Austin, 73, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at her residence.

She was born on August 13, 1949 in Burnettsville to the late Ray and Evelyn Johnson. On February 21, 1990 she married John "Dog" Austin. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2015.

Linda worked for Emerson in Monticello, retiring after 30 years. She was a member of the Redmans Lodge and a lifetime member of the AMVETS in Monticello. Linda loved yard work, animals and trips to different places. She loved time spent with her family, especially her grandkids.

She is survived by two daughters, Amanda (Chuck) Young of Monticello and Michelle (Larry) Bartley of Oak City, NC; two sons, Bill (Heather) Roland of Logansport and Jake Roland of Post, TX; two step sons, Troy (Jessica) Austin of Lafayette and Aaron (Shannon) Austin of Monticello; four siblings, Bert (Karen) Johnson of Buffalo, Elveree Pearl Hainje of Peru, Evie Fields of Peru and Danny Johnson of Monticello; 20 grandchildren, Dalton, CJ, Cambree, Justin, Rhett, Sierra, Braylan, Logan, Cole, Lincoln, Chase, Seth, Erica, Shelby, Kierstin, Emily, Shaelynn, Ashlynn, Jon Luke and Shelby; and several great grandchildren; and her companion, Johnny Scott of Monticello.

She was also preceded in death by siblings, Bill Johnson, Sue Huffman, Connie Johnson, and Jim Johnson.

A celebration of Linda's life and a dinner will be at 5pm on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Redmans Lodge, 422 N. Main Street, Monticello.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Wounded Warrior. Envelopes will be available at the Redmans Lodge in Monticello.
