Lillian Ruth Johns

Lillian R Johns, 93, of Idaville, passed away at 9:05am, Wednesday, February 24, 2016 surrounded by her family at IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.She was born in Chalmers on June 12, 1922 to the late Richard L. and Helen A. (Lesley) Thompson, Sr. Her marriage was to Arthur Johns on January 11, 1942 in Rensselaer. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1989.Mrs. Johns was a graduate of Chalmers High School. She attended the Church of God in Idaville. Mrs. Johns enjoyed gardening, puzzles, word searches and reading the newspaper. She loved to be outdoors and pick up sticks and apples and bird watch. She is survived by a daughter, Eunice E. McQuinn of Monticello; four sons, Larry R. (Anabelle) Johns of Monticello, Gary A. (Janis) Johns of Idaville, Richard D. (Phyllis) Johns of Monon, Daryl L. (Barbara) Johns of Yeoman and Danny R. (Catherine) Johns of Monticello; one sister, Donna A. Westphal of Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard L. Thompson, Jr. and Jack Thompson; one granddaughter, Anita and a step grandson, Chad Pancake. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Monday at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Raderstorf officiating.Burial will follow at Idaville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Monticello VFW Post 2231 or the Idaville Fire Department.Online condolences and expressions of sympathy may be extended by signing the guestbook.
