Lester R. Tillett

Lester R. "Bud" Tillett, 94 of Bloomington, formerly of Monticello, died at 12:37 pm, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Garden Villa in Bloomington. He was born in Monticello on January 17, 1919 to the late James and Rosa (Eastwood) Tillett. He married June D. Gordon on May 20, 1942 in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2012. He graduated from Monticello High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant working in logistics, scheduling B-52 flights. He is survived by one son, David (Lucy Ann) Tillett of Portland, OR; one daughter, Jordan Tillett of Bloomington; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Rees, Gertrude Franks, Helen Russell; and one brother, James Tillett. Funeral Services will be private and he will be buried beside his beloved wife, June at Riverview I.O.O.F Cemetery, rural Monticello with Rev. Brian Beeks officiating.
