Lawrence "Larry" Sanson, 66, of Monticello died at 11:42pm on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at IUH White Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 24, 1946 in Lafayette to the late Robert L. and Novella R. (Pilotte) Sanson. His marriage was to Emily Vibbert on June 8, 1977 in Monticello. She survives in Monticello. Larry was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. He was a truck driver for Grane Trucking in Lafayette. Larry was an active member of local AMVETS, American Legion, VFW and 40 and 8. He served on the funeral detail honor guard. Larry was a member of OOIDA (owner, operator, independent drivers association). He was an avid antique collector and also a collector of unique items. He enjoyed gardening. He loved dogs, especially his dog Gizmo. He is survived by 2 daughters, Eva (John) Robinson of Monticello, Brandi (Steven) Robertson of Monticello; 3 sons, Tony (Michelle) Sanson of Orange Park, FL, Doug (Rachel) Sanson of Flora , Chris (Jennifer) Sanson of Chillicothe, IL. 4 brothers John (Patti) Sanson of Knoxville, TN, Kenny (Jeannie) Sanson of Lafayette, Steve (Younghi) Sanson of Montgomery, AL, Mike Sanson of Monticello, IN; 4 sisters, Annette Douglas, Gloria Overbeck, MaryAnn (Billy) McGlothlin, and Karen Leonard all of Monticello; 10 grandchildren and one on the way. Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on, April 29, 2013 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 3:45 at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10am. Burial will be at Riverview IOOF cemetery in rural Monticello with full military rites. Memorial contributions may be given to the Wounded Warrior Home or to the donors choice of charities. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
