Lawrence F. Arnott, 98, of Zionsville, formerly of Monticello, passed away at 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born on November 8, 1909 Spokane, Washington to the late Arthur E. Arnott and the late Cena (Carr) Arnott. He married Loretta M. Walpole on October 2, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2004. Arnott was a 1928 graduate of Rensselaer High School. He graduated in 1932 from Purdue University where he received his Bachelor's degree in agriculture and was a member of Acacia fraternity. He had worked as a field agent with Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Company for 20 years. He then worked as a Real Estate agent with Benker Realty in Lafayette. He owned and operated Arnott Real Estate and Farm Management from which he retired. In 1986, he was inducted into the Rensselaer High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Prairie Masonic Lodge # 125 F&AM. He was a member of the Scottish rite, Valley of Indianapolis, and also a member of the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis. His favorite pastime was golf. Mr. Arnott is survived by Son, John (Jan) Arnott of Monticello; Daughter, Judy (Bob) Stusrud of Indianapolis; 2 Grandsons, Jeff (Page) Arnott of Mount Carmel, IL, J.R. (Michelle) Arnott of Mattoon, IL; 2 Granddaughters, Wendy (Ron Arndt) Stusrud-Arndt of New York, NY, Katie Stusrud of Washington , DC; and 4 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and 2 sisters are deceased. Private family services will be held at the Weston Cemetery in Rensselaer, at a later date.
