Lawrence "Bill" W. Culp

Lawrence W. "Bill" Culp, 92, of Monticello, passed away on January 20, 2025 at Monticello Healthcare.

He was born on April 14, 1932 in Monon to True and Edith (Smith) Culp. On May 1, 1982 he married Bonnie (Lee) Cohee at Bell Center Church. She preceded him in death in 2015.

He was a 1951 graduate of Monon High School. Bill went on to join the Navy, work at Monon Stockyards, Monon Trailer as a dispatcher and then to a career in real estate. He worked at Vogel Real Estate and then Culp Real Estate as a realtor and broker. Later, he managed apartments for 10 years, retired and moved to Remington. 

He was a 50 year member of American Legion Post #81 of Monticello. Bill enjoyed a good cigar.

He is survived by sons, Gary R. Culp of Monticello, Larry (Deb) Culp of Monticello; daughters, Trudy (Brad) Forkner of Cherry, IL, Amy Culp of Goshen, Melissa (Jeff) Lawless of Kokomo; 16 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife Bonnie, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Jim and Richard Culp; and a grandson, Kevin Kiefer.

The family is planning a service in the spring.
