Laverne Lester Germann

Laverne Lester Germann, 85, of Loveland, CO, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at North Shore Health and Rehab in Loveland, CO.He was born on June 29, 1931 in Chicago to the late Arthur and Laura ( Schawrm) Germann. On August 31, 1974 he married the former Deone Schroeder at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Monticello. She preceded him in death July 11, 1985.After graduating high school Les attended Northwestern University where he received a formal certificate in music. He worked as a technical writer and editor for Friedman Marketing. Lester's passion was music and he was an accomplished pianist and organist. He was proud of his family's Southern Polish heritage which is now Northern Germany, therefore, he especially enjoyed Polish music. He also enjoyed music book biographies. He is survived by his brother, Arthur Germann of Loveland, CO; two nephews; a niece; and grand nieces and nephews.Funeral services celebrating Lester's life will be at 11:00 am Friday, June 2, 2017 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Charles Blakey of St. James Lutheran Church, Reynolds officiating.Burial will follow in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds.Contributions for Les Memorial Fund may be mailed to Mr. Arthur Germann at 4951 Filbert Drive Loveland, CO 80538.
