Larry Dean Atkinson

Larry Dean Atkinson, 74, of Monticello, passed away at 6:00 am, Sunday, July 25, 2021 at his residence.
He was born on March 12, 1947 in Cambridge, NE to the late Cecil and June (Warren) Atkinson.
Larry was a 1966 graduate of Remington High School. He was a United States Army veteran, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Sharpshooter Rifle M-14 Expert Medal. Larry retired from Amoco Oil in Whiting, IN and was also a union carpenter. Larry was a member of the Faith Covenant Fellowship Church. He was a member of the Rotary Air Force Association, NRA, and Iroquois Archery club in Rensselaer. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. Larry enjoyed archery, hunting and gyrocopters.
He is survived by four children, Ritchie Atkinson of Monticello, Ronnie Dean (Lorena) Atkinson of Monticello, Randy Lynn (Angela) Atkinson of Gales Ferry, CT and Robin Rene Atkinson(Companion Santos Quiroz) of Dickson, TN; three siblings, Carol (Dean) Jensen of Rochester, Donna Reynolds of Wolcott, Steve Atkinson of Pontiac, IL; 11grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
He was also preceded in death by siblings, Darlene Bulington, Shirley Bramble, Charlie Atkinson, Ronnie Ray Atkinson and infant brother Russell.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Faith Covenant Fellowship Church in Monticello.
Visitation will also be on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service celebrating Larry's life at 11:00 am at Faith Covenant Fellowship Church with Rev. Darl Clemons officiating.
Burial will follow at the Remington I.O.O.F Cemetery with full military rites.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Faith Covenant Fellowship Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
