L. Dean Foulks, 85, of Monticello, died on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 8:45pm at White County Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 15, 1923 in Milroy Township, Jasper County, Indiana to the late Earl and Mabel (English) Foulks. His marriage was to Maxine Bachman on August 7, 1948 at Rensselear. She Survives in Monticello. Mr. Foulks graduated from Monon High School in 1941. He was in the U.S. Army during WWII, serving with the 7th Army in Europe and was a truck driver that transported supplies and troops. Mr. Foulks was a member of the Zion Bethel Church . He was a farmer until 1968. Mr. Foulks also owned and operated Foulks Tree Service from which he retired in 1995. He loved reciting poetry. He enjoyed tinkering. He also enjoyed many friends and fellow Florida snowbirds. He enjoyed spending time with his family and camping with his family. Mr. Foulks enjoyed 61 wonderful years with his lovely wife, Maxine. He is survived by a Son, John (Shar) Foulks of Manteno, IL; 3 Daughters, Linda (Dan) Leman of Francesville, IN, Martha (Russ) Winger of Wolcott, IN, Diana (Jerry) Batterbee of Mancelona, MI; Sister, Viona Brown of Monticello, IN; 14 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 5 Brothers, Lorin, Richard, Forrest, Victor and Byron Faulks; 1 Sister, Juanita Diemer; 2 Grandsons, Justin Leman and Jack Poman. Visitation will take place from 4-8pm , Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home and on Monday one hour prior the the funeral service at Zion Bethel Church. Funeral Services will be held at Zion Bethel Church, Monday, August 17, 2009, 10 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Messer officiating. Burial will be held at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville.
