Kenneth R. Schlegel

Kenneth R. Schlegel, 78, of Monticello, died at 3:16 am, Saturday, July 9, 2011 I.U. White Memorial Hospital. He was born February 27, 1933 in Chicago to the late Otto and Kathryn (Hamang) Schlegel. His marriage was to Virginia Migas on May 15, 1954 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Blue Island, Illinois. Mr. Schlegel was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. He was a member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of the Lakes and also at St. Isidore in Chicago. He worked as a bricklayer for the Bricklayers Local Union 21 of Chicago. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and bowling. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Carol) Schlegel of Indianapolis, Richard Schlegel and his wife Cynthia Lober of Fowlerville, Michigan, Anthony Schlegel and his wife Nicole Stopoulos of Downers Grove, Illinois; brother, James (Barbara) Schlegel of Tinley Park, Illinios; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be given to Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.
