Kathryn L. Fowler

Kathryn L. Fowler, 94, of Monticello died at 9:33 pm, Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She was born September 18, 1916 in Meca, in Park County, Indiana to the late Leslie L. and Elizabeth (Gray) Barton. Her marriage was Marion Dale Fowler on June 14, 1941 and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Idaville Church of God. She had lived in Idaville for 45 years. She worked at Bryan Manufacturing and later H.G. Gosards before retiring. She then worked as a cook at the former Lakeview Home. She helped with the Senior Citizens. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and a life member of the VFW Womens Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing. She is survived by two sons, James D. Fowler of Estell Springs, TN, Larry G. Fowler of Monticello; sister, Dorothy Marshall of Idaville; daughter-in-law, Coleen Fowler of Richmond, VA; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son, Billy J. Fowler of Suffolk; and a grandson. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm, Monday, August 1 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 am, Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Raderstorf officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello.
