Kathryn Anne Cotner, 69, of Monticello , passed away at 4:49 pm, Friday, October 7, 2016 at her residence.

She was born on October 11, 1946 in Homer, New York to the late Francis "Stub" and Vivian (Morse) Riley. On December 18, 1965 she married John "Pat" Cotner in Illinois and preceded her in death in 2006.

Kathryn was a graduate of Homer High School in Homer, New York . She worked as the adult services librarian for 15 years at the Monticello Union Township Library from which she retired. She was a member of DAR and the Wednesday Reading Club. She was very active with the White County Democrats and ran for White County Recorder. She volunteered at the food pantry. Kathryn enjoyed reading, knitting, quilting, cooking, dinner outings with the "Friday Night Ladies Club", and her Dachshund, Flossie. She was known for her half moon cookies. She especially cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Michael Cotner of Louisville, KY, Kellie Suesz of Indianapolis, and Karyn (Trent) Chaffin of Evansville; brother, Patrick (Peggy) Riley of San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren, Alex, Eric, and Ben; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends for a time of remembering and celebrating Kathryn's life from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Monticello Union Township Public Library.

Memorial contributions are suggested and encouraged to the Monticello Union Township Public Library. Envelopes will be available at the library. Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello is entrusted with care.
