Kathleen Neal

Kathleen Neal, 81, of Chalmers, passed away at 8:34 am, Friday, July 7, 2017 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.She was born on August 22, 1935 in Tazwell, TN to the late Lennie and Hannah (Hurst) Sulfridge. On February 19, 1955, she married Wallace Neal at the Pines Church near Michigan City and he survives.She was a graduate of Chalmers High School and was a homemaker and farm wife.Kathleen was a member of Chalmers Community Church. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority and enjoyed working in the fair concession.She enjoyed reading, writing in her journals, but was especially fond of flower gardening and vegetable gardening. Surviving with her husband, Wallace are her children Cheryl Wingate of Chalmers, Gail (Steve) Marconett of Brookston, Joel (Kristy) Neal of Lafayette, Brian Neal of Chalmers; siblings, William "Buddy" (Gay) Sulfridge of Brookston, Mamie Shenk of Monticello, Janet Sparks of Richmond, VA, Lisa Bonnell of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.A grandson preceded her in death.Private services and burial will be in Yeoman Cemetery with Pastor Bill Henerson officiating.Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
