Karen Leann Vaughn, 75, of Monticello, passed away at 10:35pm, Sunday, July 26, 2020 at I U Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
She was born on July 25, 1945 in Indianapolis to the late Kenova Lee and Anna Irene (Taylor) Sexton. On September 22, 1972 she married William Vaughn in Indianapolis. He survives in Monticello.
Karen graduated from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis. She worked as a palletizer machine operator at a metal manufacturing company. She was a member of Monticello Christian Church, where she served as a deaconess for two terms and on the Evangelism committee. Karen liked Elvis, old T.V. shows, and she was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed reading Karen Kingsbury books. Karen also enjoyed cooking, baking and loved time spent with her sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dogs.
She is survived by son, Chris Vaughn of Lafayette and step-son, David Vaughn of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Cassidy Ranee, Allison Ann, and Emily Elizabeth and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral luncheon will be held from noon until 1pm at Monticello Christian Church on Saturday, August 1, 2020.
Visitation will follow from 1pm until the time of funeral services celebrating Karen's life at 2pm at Monticello Christian Church with Pastor Chris Dodson officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery in rural Monticello.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Monticello Christian Church, Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the church.
