June J. Bell

June J. Bell, 78, of Lafayette died at 6:45 am, Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital of Lafayette. She was born June 14, 1932 in White County to the late Singer and Eva Belle (Neal) Shields. Her marriage was to William Lamoin Bell on April 10, 1949 at Monticello, and he preceded her in death December 6, 1997. June was a member of Reynolds United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and a member of the Monticello Moose Auxiliary. She was an avid reader. She also enjoyed watching and feeding birds. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished time spent with them. She is survived by daughters, Karen (Bob) Carlisle of Lafayette, Kathy Coon of New Albany, Indiana; son, Dennis (Kathy) Bell of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; brother, Dan R. Shields; Grandsons, Fred (Amy) Justice, Rob Carlisle, Ryan (Rita) Carlisle, Mike Coon, Matt Bell, Brian Bell; granddaughters, Jennifer (Jamie) Perigo, Melissa Bell; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dana Bell; and brothers, Don, Ray, and Jack Shields. Visitation will be from 11 am until 1 pm, Monday, December 27, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Idaville Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Lafayette Urban Ministries. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
