Judith "Judy" Houston Guingrich Claypool, 67, of Monticello passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 at her residence. She was born on February 3, 1941 at Lafayette to the late Eugene A. and Dorothy (Bir) Houston. Her marriage was to George Guingrich. He preceded her in death. She had been married to Thomas Claypool. She received her Bachelor and Master Degrees from Ball State University. She was a retired school teacher from Twin Lakes School Corporation. She first taught 5th grade at Oaklawn Elementary. She later taught 6th grade reading and math at Roosevelt Middle School. She had been a member of The Ladies of The Moose in Monticello. She was a member of the Indiana State Teacher's Association. She enjoyed music, reading, fishing, and games. Survivors include: 2 Sons, Jeff (Jill) Guingrich of Monticello, IN, Dan Claypool of Monticello, IN; 4 Brothers, Ed (Maryjane) Houston of Burrows, IN, Kenny Houston (companion,Debbie Cross) of Monticello, IN, Ron (Micky) Houston of Lafayette, IN, Brian (Kate) Houston of Winamac, IN; 6 Sisters, Beverly (Burton) Chadwick of Vacaville, CA, Sue (Mike) Marchetti of Carmel, IN, Nancy (Bill) Creech of Plymouth, IN, Carol Wild (companion, Mary Rhey) of Noblesville, IN, Sandra (Greg) Johnson of Monticello, IN, Lori McIntosh (companion, Bill Cheever)of Monticello, IN; and 3 grandchildren, Drew, Cole, and Erin Guingrich. She is preceded in death by her Parents;Son, David Guingrich; Brothers, David and Michael Houston; and Sister, Barb Vandervate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, with her sister, Rev. Carol Wild officiating. Burial will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello.
