Juan F. Jaimes, 87, of Monticello, passed away at 11:04 am, Saturday, April 30, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 29, 1935 in Cotulla, TX to the late Francisco and Juanita (Charo) Jaimes. On December 26, 1973 he married the former Marion "Mickey" Wagner in Joliet, Illinois and she survives. He was a professional truck driver and received several safe driving awards. Juan said, " his greatest accomplishment was being married for more than forty-eight years, raising twelve children, and being a self-employed truck driver for 31 years". Prior to his stint on the road, he owned a landscaping business for five years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and writing songs, wood working, drawing, driving semis, playing with his dogs and loved reading The Bible. Surviving are his wife, Mickey of Monticello; children, John (Anita) Jaimes of PA, Susan Quintero of TX, Rebecca Nielson of MD, Jerry (Ruby) Jaimes of TX, Donald Banas of IL, David Narter of IL, Jimmy (Susan) Jaimes of MD, Ronnie (Terri) Jaimes of TX, Erin Cipriani of IL, Jennifer (Dennis) Norris of Monticello; daughter-in-law, Patricia Jaimes of PA, thirty-five grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Petra Lopez; sons, Robert (and wife, Nora) and Roy Jaimes; son-in-law, Gabriel Quintero; and great- granddaughter Jenise Quintero. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of memorial services at 6:00 pm celebrating Juan's life on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Harold Rutledge will officiate services. Memorial contributions may be given to Best Friends Animal Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
