M. Joyce Tribbett (90), Monticello, went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2022.
She was born on April 3, 1931, in Cass Twp., White Co. to Homer Ray and Mary Ellen (Renwick) Downey. On March 24, 1950 she married Clyde E.Tribbett at the home of her parents east of Buffalo, and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2013.
She was a 1949 graduate of Royal Center High School. She worked on the farm with her husband and their family. Later she worked at WesternSales in Monticello, and retired from the Pulaski White Rural Telephone in Star City. She attended the Zion Bethel Church but had previously been amember of the White Oak UM Church near Headlee for over 50 years, where she played the piano and taught Sunday School classes besidesholding various offices. She also played piano for the White County Council on Aging for their church services. She enjoyed sewing, painting,and the piano. She loved her family dearly.
Survivors are her daughter Susan Starbuck (Lafayette), sons Lyle (Dianna) Tribbett, Monon, Jeffery (Cynthia) Tribbett, Buffalo area, Charles (Darla)Tribbett, Monticello; 14 grandchildren, Rendi (Mike) Tharp, Lafayette, Amy Eberhard, Lafayette, Jacob Martin, Maryland; Nathan Tribbett, Monon,Sara Tribbett-Williams (Ryan), Monon, Adam (Heather) Tribbett, Decatur, GA, Rachael (Pat) Conn, Monon, Jared (Megan) Tribbett, Monticello,Gabriel (Bethany) Tribbett, Columbia City, Zachariah (Judit) Tribbett, Connecticut, Seth (Sarah) Tribbett, Whitestown, Ethan Tribbett, Monticello,Natalie (Bradley) Thomas, Sunrise, FL, and Mason (Elise) Tribbett, Monticello; a sister, Margaret (Forrest) Peterson, Valparaiso; and 33great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by twin sons, Ronald & Donald Tribbett; a grandson, Rusty Tribbett; 2 great grandsons, Jensen & Rivers Tribbett; 5sisters and their husbands, Kathlyn (Charles) Amey, Janet Downey, Eleanor (Cecil) Deckard, Arlys (Jack) Bowers, Carol (Jim) Kestle; 2brothers and their wives, Homer (Alvina) Downey, Max (Norita) Downey.
Calling will be from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM on Saturday, January 29 at Zion Bethel Church at 415 S. Third Street, Monticello, with funeral servicesimmediately following at 1:00 PM. Pastors Jeff Messer and Gabriel Tribbett officiating.
Burial will follow the services at Riverview I. O. O. F. Cemetery in Monticello, IN.
Memorials may be made to The Gideons International or the White County Council on Aging.
