Joy A. Ross

Joy Ross, 80, of Monticello, passed away at 4:30 pm, Friday, October 30, 2015 at Monticello Healthcare. She was born on February 28, 1935 in New York, NY to the late Charles H. and Edith (Hayword) Lang. She married William Ross and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her home on the lake. She loved birds and raised them as pets. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She attended Our Lady of the Lakes Church. She is survived by two daughters, Sherry and Joy Pestana; three siblings, Vaughn Lang of Charleston, SC, Carl Lang of Escalon, CA, Todd Lang of Sacramento, CA; and several grandchrildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Doug Lang, and a sister, Betty Amaral. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm Friday, November 6, 2015 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Fr. Rasner of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church or Women Giving Together. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
