Joseph C. 'Joe' Mcmasters

Joseph C. McMasters, 61, of Delphi, passed away on June 5, 2018 in Lafayette.He was born on February 18, 1957 in Frankfort to the late Wayne A. and Elizabeth M. (Huckleby) McMasters. On October 11, 2002 he married the former Joetta Royer in Louisville, KY and she survives. During high school he began working at Buschman's Marathon pumping gas and washing windows and finally working his way up to mechanic. He worked for Buschman's for 25 years. He then started driving truck and transported campers. Later he became an owner/operator of his own semi and did over the road transport. Joe enjoyed playing guitar, building furniture, fishing, restoring cars and semis, and his dog, Luna. He enjoyed playing country music and country Gospel. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.He is survived by his children, Teresa Ringer of Monticello, Rosie (Ken) Kelley of Monticello, Sandi (Frank) Smith of Monticello, Gary Gant of Monticello, James (Crystal) Gant of Monticello, Kenneth (Crystal) Sattler of Battle Creek, MI, Clayton Maxfield of Lafayette; siblings, Paul (Beverly) McMasters of Delphi and Pauline Conley of Lafayette; eighteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.Memorial services celebrating Joe's life will be at 7pm, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Chris Dodson officiating.Friends may call one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be given to a Humane Society of the Donor's choice OR to the American Diabetes Association.
