John Thomas Horn

John Thomas Horn, 21, of Monticello died at 3:40 am, Tuesday, May 12, 2009 in West Lafayette. He was born February 2, 1988 in Delta, Colorado to Walter M. and Susan E. Horn. They survive in Monticello. John Thomas attended Twin Lakes School Corporation through his sophomore year. He then attended The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities from which he graduated in 2006. He attended Purdue University for one academic year. He also attended Ivy Tech, Monticello this past semester. He planned to attend Indiana University this fall. He joined the National Guard in 2007 and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was deployed to Iraq in 2008, and served in Co B 1-293 INF. Other survivors include: Brother, Walter Patrick Horn of Monticello; Grandparents, Darlene and James Ball of Denver, Colorado He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Doris Jane and Captain Walter B. Horn. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm, Sunday, May 17 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. David Mueller officiating. Funeral services will be at 10 am, Monday, May 18, 2009 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2pm CDT at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL with full military rites. Memorial donations may be given to The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
