John N. "Jack" Shields, 73, of Monticello passed away Sunday, December 2, 2007 at 12:52 a.m. at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. He was born December 28, 1933 in White County, Indiana to the late Singer Shields and the late Eva (Neal) Shields. His marriage was to Faye Westerhouse on April 18, 1958 at the Christian Church, Monticello, IN. Faye survives him in Monticello. Mr. Shields was a 1953 graduate of Monticello High School, and had attended Indiana Business College, Logansport for two years. He was a purchasing agent for RCA. He had been on the board of directors of the Lakes Federal Credit Union. He was in banking before computers, when all transactions were processed manually. Mr. Shields had been a past member of the Monticello Moose Lodge. He enjoyed family vacations and camping. Other survivors include: Son, Jeff A. "Lurch" ( Susan) Shields of Delphi, IN; 2 Daughters, Kalene S. (Michael) Bunnell of Monticello, IN, Kim K. (Darrel) Wiley of Delphi, IN; Sister, June Bell of Lafayette, IN; Survived by a brother; 4 Grandsons, Kyle (Becky) Bunnel, Evan Wiley, Justin Wiley, John Shields; 4 Granddaughters, Jessica (Mark) Corso, Jennifer (John) Todd, Greer Keith, Alicia Bunnell; Great-Grandson, Micah; Great-Granddaughter, Jaycieee He was preceded in death by his parents, Son: John T. Shields, Brothers: Ray and Don Shields. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Springer Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Thursday, December 6, 2007, 11 a.m. with Rev. Les Cooper of the Pike Creek Church of the Brethern Officiating. Burial will take place at the Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, Riley Hospital, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
