John Michael Avers

John M. Avers ,60, of Monticello passed away, Monday, May 7, 2012 at home. John was born on October 22, 1951 in Adrian Michigan to the late Maurice E. and Kathryn (Underwood) Avers. His marriage was to Patti Parsons on July 24, 1978 in Toledo, Ohio. She survives in Monticello. He is also survived by his son, Dylan Andrew Avers of Indianapolis; sister, A. Kristyn (Avers) Mahler of LeClaire, IA; sisters-in-law, Mary and Brenda; brothers-in-law, Mike and Dan; nieces, Stefanie, Amy, Jennifer and Carsen; nephews, Jim, Nick, Christian, Ethan, Seth, Kade, Connor and John. John was also preceded in death by a brother, Maurice E. Avers; sister, Wendelyn S. (Avers) Leighton. John graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toledo, in Toledo, OH. John's career was devoted to Health Care Administration working in Toledo, OH; Eaton Rapids, Michigan; Monticello and Kokomo. John was a wonderful example of how to treat others. He was always generous and willing to help. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate John's life will be Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 2pm to 5pm at the family home.
