John David 'J.D.' Welch

John David "J.D." Welch, 88, of Monticello, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at his daughter's residence in Monticello.
He was born on March 15, 1933 in Dayton, TN to the late Lorene (Price) Robertson.On July 8, 1950 he married Bettye Morgan in Dayton, TN. She preceded him in death December 19, 1997.
J.D. worked for the U.S. Steel Mill, retiring after 30 years. He enjoyed watching and reading Westerns. J.D. collected antique knives, watches, coins and model cars.
He is survived by four children; Ron (Dorothy) Miller of Eaton Rapids, MI, Debbie (Tim) Coghlan of Monticello, Carol Wright of Monticello and Theresa (Jack) Zoliner of Hammond; a sister, Dorothy Crouch of Estero, FL; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Nick Zoliner.
Funeral services will be held privately for the family.
