John D. Mcdougle

John D. McDougle, 84, of Brookston, passed away at 3:45pm, Sunday, April 9, 2023 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.


He was born on August 11, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late William and Marie (Meiser) McDougle.

On August 10, 1969 in Evanston, Illinois he married Mary Lee McMenamin. She survives in Brookston.


John was a 1956 graduate of Twin Lakes High School, and a graduate of Purdue University Business School in 1960. John served in the United States Navy as a commander for over 32 years, serving in various positions. He started his navy career on the USS Bayfield APA33. John was a banker and vice president of finance at the Comerica Bank in Muskegon, MI for over 30 years. He was a member of the West Michigan Honorary Financial Society. John was an Eagle Scout and the Boy Scouts regional leader. He was a charter member of the John Purdue Club and a member of the Beta Theta Pi at Purdue University. John was a lifetime member of the Ducks Unlimited in Muskegon, MI and the Browning Collectors Society. He loved duck hunting with his dogs, Ted and Barney.


In addition to his wife, Mary Lee of Brookston, he is survived by a sister, Mary (Wayne) Schuth of Pasadena, CA and a nephew, Andrew Schuth of Los Angeles, CA.


A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11am at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home.


Memorial contributions may be given to the Donor's Choice of Charity. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
