Joan E. "Jo" Mann, 80, of Monticello died at 1:00 am, Wednesday, April 21, 2010 Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She was born March 20, 1930 at North Baltimore, Ohio the late Marlin and Charity (Lance) White. Her marriage was to James H. "Jim" Mann on November 28, 1953 at Fremont, Ohio. He preceded her in death March 20, 2009. She was a 1948 Graduate of Fremont Ross High School, Fremont, Ohio. She came to Monticello to work at Ideal Beach where she met the love of her life Jim H. Mann. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello where she was involved with various ministries of the church including many of the womens church circles. She became an Honorary Life Member of the Presbyterian Womens Board in 2001. Members chosen have been specially cited for advancing the womens organization and church with their service. She was an avid bridge player. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, and bird watching. She was especially proud of her grandsons and enjoyed attending many of their sporting events. She is survived by a son, Jim (Rachel) Mann of Monticello; brother, Todd (Faith) Simon of Concord, California; three sisters Carol Jean Briney of Fremont, Ohio; Ruth (Richard) Johnson of Lompoc, California, Mary Weil (and special friend Phil) of Toledo, Ohio; and two grandsons, Darren and Austin Mann. She is also preceded in death by an infant sister Mary Lou Simon. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8 pm, Friday, April 23 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be at 11 am, Saturday, at the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello with Rev. Tom Albaum officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello.
