Jerry Zerth

Jerry L. Zerth, 62, of Monticello near Buffalo passed away on Friday evening, August 5, 2016, due to a tractor accident on State Road 39 and 700 North in White County. He was born on January 19, 1954 in Logansport to the late Robert and Retta (Hines) Zerth who survives in Monticello. He married Donna Wilkerson on December 10, 2011 in Monticello, and she survives. Brooke Zerth, their daughter, also survives.After graduating from North White High School in 1973, he pursued his lifetime passion of farming. Jerry lived in the Buffalo and Monticello community all of his life. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, farming and raising cattle. He enjoyed sharing his passions with his daughter, Brooke.Also surviving are his sisters, Linda (Dennis) Thompson of Crown Point, Lugene "Lu" (Steve) McKee, of Noblesville, Deborah "Deb" Zerth, Indianapolis, Janice "Jan" (Rick) Carlton, of Fishers, Marianne "Mari" (Steve) Herriford of Indianapolis, and Christi (Brian) Perry, of Chalmers. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 11am until the time of services at 2 pm celebrating Jerrys life at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Keith Raderstorf officiating. The funeral home is located at 202 South Illinois Street, Monticello. Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monticello. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to be given to Jerrys daughter, Brooke to assist with her college expenses.
