"Jerry" R. Bentlage, 76, of Monticello, passed away early Friday morning, May 16, 2014 at her residence. She was born on August 7, 1937 in Indianapolis to the late William R. and Grace (Johnson) Daley. She was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School and attended Butler University both of Indianapolis. She was a sales representative for Monticello Lumber and later worked 21 years at Diener Supply until her retirement. She was fondly known as the paint and wallpaper lady. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church where she was past president of the Altar and Rosary Sodality. She was a founding member of the Monticello Toastmasters, founding member of The Divorce Club and a regular volunteer at the election poles. She was the theatre grandma for Twin Lakes High School for 37 years. She was also a two time survivor of breast cancer and looked forward to celebrating her 40th anniversary at this year's Relay For Life. Jerry loved the Monticello community and was a cheerleader for every advancing cause and fundraiser. She is survived by her family, Mark Weaver of Monticello; two sons, Mark (Beth) Bentlage of Monticello, David Bentlage (fianc, Courtney Campbell) of Jackson, WY; daughter, Paula (Mike) Currie of Powell, OH; brother, William H. (Shirley) Daley of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Kathryn (Hoyt) Ellspermann, Tyler Bentlage, Kristin Bentlage (fiance, Tiburcio Martinez), Trevor Bentlage, Sarah Bentlage, Jacob Bentlage, Kameron Moroneso, Josie Campbell, Abigail Bentlage, Nick Currie, Christie Currie; great grandson, Gunnar Ellspermann; two nieces; and two nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 pm until the time of services at 7 pm, Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Father Gerald Borawski of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic church officiating. The Rosary will be prayed at 3:45 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be given to Women to Women or to Twin Lakes High School Band for a trust to be established in honor of Trevor Bentlage in memory of Jerry Bentlage.
