Jane A. Harmon

Jane Ann Harmon, 70, of New Castle, passed away on, Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Henry County Hospital in New Castle.She was born on June 6, 1946 in Lafayette, the daughter of the late Harold and Emarene (Mathews) Miller. Her mother, Emarene Abolt survives and resides in Monticello. On October 24, 1965 she married Norman Harmon, Jr. in Lafayette. He preceded her in death June 13, 2012.Jane was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church in New Castle. She was a pastor's wife and she served with her husband in Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky and Kansas. After Norman's death she moved to New Castle. Jane enjoyed flower arranging and time spent with her grandchildren.She is survived a son Michael A. Harmon of New Castle; siblings, June Dalton of Monticello, Jerry (Sam) Miller of Monticello, Henry Fritz of Albany,CA, Rosetta Seward of Lafayette, Shirley Kay Fribort of Cicero and Myrtle Moore of Coldiron, KY. She was also preceded in death by a son, Rick Harmon.Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of the funeral services celebrating Jane's life at 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello, with her brother-in-law, Pastor Rod Harmon officiating.Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to her son, Michael A. Harmon.
