Jackie "Jack" L. Sparks

Jackie “Jack” L. Sparks, 76 of Monon passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Logansport, the son of the Late Clarence and Katherine (Sausaman) Sparks. He married the former Jeneen Beasey, his soul mate and the love of his life at the Baptist Church in Monon on August 15, 1970.

Jack served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during Viet Nam. He attended Christ's Church in Monticello where the word was learned and lived by the best possible way. He tried to live his life, the very best he could, by loving and forgiving as his Lord taught. He also knew it was imperative to not just say he had faith but that he walked the faith in the best way possible. He recently started attending the Buffalo Christian Church. Jack worked at Tate and Lyle following many years of service, retiring when he turned 65. He always said, "my priorities are to God, my wife and family, and his Harley Davidison."

Surviving are his children, Stamie (Chuck) Sommers of Idaville, Jarrod Sparks (Stephanie Mattix) of Monon, and Justin (Kristen) Sparks of Monon; three grandchildren, Ethan Sparks, Kobie Sparks of Monon, and Elly Sparks of Francesville; sister, Louise (Kenny) Spange of Monticello; brother-in-law, Bill Criswell of Idaville; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins along with so many special friends way too numerous to name.

In addition to his parents, Clarence and Katherine (Sausaman) Sparks he was preceded in death by sisters, Sondra Criswell, Linda Gallinger, and infant sister, Angie Sparks.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 11:00 am (EST) until the time of services celebrating Jack’s life at 1:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Gregg Nydegger will officiate services. Everyone is encouraged to wear something Harley Davidson.
