James Francis Bowsher, 92, of Monticello died at 11:55 am, Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at White County Memorial Hospital. He was born June 20, 1918 at White County Indiana to the late James Francis and Edna (Fross) Bowsher. On March 5, 1944 at Joliet, Illinois, he married Olga Baloy and she survives. He was a Graduate of Battle Ground High School and was a retired inspector from RCA. He was a veteran of the United States Navy Air Corp serving from 1942 until 1945 as a Lt. J.G. Blimp Pilot during WWII. He was a life member of the White County Historical Society and also a member of the American Legion. In addition to his wife, Olga, he is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Rumple of Galion, Ohio, and Patsy Ripple of Monticello; two sisters, Imogene (Bert) Moore of Monticello, and Madora Purdy of Lafayette; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son, Jim Bowsher, III; two brothers; two sisters; and a grandson. Visitation will be from Noon until 2 pm, Tuesday, February 15, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home Funeral services will follow at 2 pm at the funeral home with Father Gerald Borawski officiating.
