Irvin L. Vore

Irvin L. Vore, 78, of Monticello, passed away at 6:02 am,Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 27, 1937 in Portland to the late Luther and Wanda (Bradburn) Vore. His marriage was to Betty E. Hastings on July 20, 1968 in Muncie. She survives and resides in Monticello. He was a graduate of Gray High School in Portland and served in the United States Army from 1956 until 1961. Irvin worked as an over the road truck driver for Dallas Mavis out of Springfield, Ohio until his retirement. He was also the former owner of a ceramic shop in Monticello. He was a member the Nazarene Church in Red Key. He was a member of the AMVETS and Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, canning, the outdoors, and furniture making. He loved spending time on the lake, skiing and wave running or any water sport that gave him an opportunity spend time with his grandkids, whom he dearly loved. He is also survived by a daughter, Bridgette Tieben of Lafayette; son-in-law, Joe Tieben of Monticello; three brothers, Johnny (Joetta) Vore of Portland, Tim Vore of NC, Tom Vore; two sisters, Virginia (Dan) Trump of Heartford City, Marylou; granddaughter, Ashley (Eric) Turner of New Palestine; and a great-granddaughter, Sophia. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Vore; and a granddaughter, Alissa Tieben. A memorial service celebrating Irvin's life will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11 am at the Crossroads of Life Church, 1100 Poplar Dr. Monticello, with Pastor Paul Storm officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Crossroads of Life Church. Envelopes will be available at the church and the funeral home.
