Howard Lewis Ruemler, 85, of Buffalo died at 4:30 pm, June 30, 2012 after a brief illness while resting comfortably at his home with his family by his side. He was born on April 10, 1927 in Reynolds to the late Walter F. and Geneva M. (Colbo) Ruemler. On May 1st, 1954 he married the love of his life, Betty Rose Klagos and she survives. He served in WWII in the Navy as a Gunners Mate 2nd Class from 1943 to 1947 and was honorably discharged. He worked for Ryder Systems from 1968 to 1989. After their working years, they traveled regularly to Florida, loving life and feeling so blessed. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds, and attended Concordia Lutheran Church in Greenwood. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 418, and the VFW Lodge both of Walton. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge # 2710 in Rotonda, Florida. Howard is also survived by a son, Randy Walter Ruemler of White House, TN; daughters, Debra L. Lavoy of Nashville, TN, Susan Kozlovsky of Appleton, WI; grandsons, Curtis Howard Reed of Nashville, TN, James, Jeffrey, and Christopher Kozlovsky. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Lindberg; and a granddaughter Jayme Rebbeca Reed. Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm, Thursday, July 5 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 am, Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Charles Blakey of St. James Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds with full military rites. Memorial contributions may be given to Guardian Angel Hospice or to the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department.
