Henry C. "Jack" Curbox, 89, of Monticello, passed away at 3:35 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2008 at Home Hospital, Lafayette. He was born April 28, 1919 in Thorntown to the late George Ira and Bertha Belle(Suiters)Curbox His marriage was to Rosemary Anwiler. They were married at the First Christian Church in Monticello, and had been married 65 years. She survives. Mr. Curbox attended Monticello High School. He was in the Army Medic Corp during WWII. He worked for RCA as a foreman for shipping and receiving and retired after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Calvary Temple in Monticello. He was County Trustee for several years. Jack loved being outdoors and mowing lawns. He was an avid IU and Purdue Basketball fan. He enjoyed working around the house and doing his "honey do" list. He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. Other survivors include: Son, Dan Curbox of Monticello Daughter, Marianne (Jon) Fryar of New Whiteland, IN Sister-in-law, Frances Curbox of Monticello, IN 2 Grandsons, Brent (Angel) Curbox of Mooresville, IN, Jason (Jenn) Fryar of New Whiteland, IN 4 Granddaughters, Autum (Steve) Reames of Monticello, IN, Melody (Matt) Gruber of Fishers, IN, Courtney Simmons of Indianapolis, IN, Ashley Simmons of Indianapolis, IN 4 Great-Grandchildren, Jasmine Reames, Tean Reames, Clayton Reames, Ezekeil Gruber He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Paul and Brooks Curbox and Sister, Wanda Hughes. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at funeral home, Thursday, January 1, 2009, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Smith of the Calvery Temple officiating. Burial will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello with full Military Rites held at the graveside. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
