Helen-Jo "Jo" Brooks, 89, passed away on Monday, April 30, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Kokomo, IN on October 31, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Eva Hunter Flynn. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Thomas, and one sister, Frances Dixon, and a grandson, Matthew Morrison.She is survived by her husband, Harold Brooks, of nearly 71 years, son Mark, of the home, and daughter Cathy Morrison, Winston-Salem, NC. She leaves three grandchildren, Eric Morrison (Tammy) and Julie Hoover (Adam), all of Winston-Salem, NC, and Christi Brooks (Matt Keene) of Chicago and three great grandchildren, Caroline, Amelia, and Faith Hoover of Winston-Salem. Jo was a long-time member of Monticello Christian Church where she served in many capacities through the years and enjoyed the fellowship of numerous special friends. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 at the Monticello Christian Church with Rev. Chris Dodson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Monticello Christian Church 105 Gordon Rd, Monticello, IN 47960 in her memory or to Twin Lakes School Food Pantry.
