Helen Swank

Helen L. Swank, 108, of Remington formerly of Monon, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at her residence.

She was born on June 16, 1916 in Champaign, IL to the late Harold and Meda (Vest) Estes. She married Leo Willey and he preceded her in death. She later married William Swank and he preceded her in death. 

She worked as the bookkeeper for the Harlem Glob Trotters and later as the first female bookkeeper for International Harvester in Washington state from which she retired. Additionally, she worked at the Monticello Library for nearly 20 years.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Kim Collier of Yakima, WA and Keith Willey of WA; and close friends and caregivers Deana Black and Ginny Markle.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Willey; and husbands, Leo Willey and William Swank.
