Helen R. Landrum, 71, of Monticello passed away at 7:57 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2008 at White County Memorial Hospital following two years of failing health. She was born May 30, 1937 at Lafayette to the late Washington A. "Pete" Burns and Alma (Pertle) Burns Lawson. Her marriage was Donald Landrum on June 21, 1986. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2006. Helen was a 1955 Graduate of Monticello High School. She was a retired school bus driver for the Milwaukee School Corporation, Milwaukee, WI. Mrs. Landrum enjoyed and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed bird watching, especially humming birds. She also enjoyed traveling. Survivors include: Son, Larry (Laura) McCallie of North Liberty, IN; Daughter, Janice L. McCallie (companion, Joe Haetler) of Baltimore County, MD; 2 Step-daughters, Pam (Rick) Tesker of Saulkville, WI, Sandy (Gene) Zindars of Kewaskum, WI; Sister, Mabel (Marvin) Haygood of Monticello; Step-brother, Junior (Karen) Lawson of Monticello; Sister-in-Law, Irene Lawson of Royal Center; 10 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her: Parents; Husband; Step Son, Stephen Landrum; Brothers, Morris Burns, and Jim Harlan; Step Brother, Lewis Lawson. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 5 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home Funeral services will be held at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 6, 2008, 1 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Davis of the Yeoman United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rual Monticello. Memorial Donations: May be made to the White County Food Pantry.
