Hazel M. Scott, 96, of Monticello, passed away at 2:25 am, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
She was born on October 22, 1925 in Frankfort to the late Vaughn Oscar and Maude Letha (Lashbrook) Miller. On March 23, 1946 she married Darrell Scott. He preceded her in death April 12, 1992.
Hazel was a 1943 graduate of West Point High School in West Point, IN. She was a member of the Idaville Church of God. Hazel had lived in Idaville since 1955, coming from Whiting, IN. She worked for General Tire in Logansport for 17 years, retiring in 1988. Hazel enjoyed reading and read her Bible everyday. Hazel helped with funeral dinners and helped make noodles. She also liked to play euchre and was in a Euchre Club for quite a few years. She also played euchre and bingo at White Oaks Health Campus and enjoyed her friendship with a lot of the patients there.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Rosemary Miller and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Kenneth, Paul, Wayne, Oscar, Jim, and Jack Miller and two sisters, Fairy Smith and Betty Cooper.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 1:00 pm until the time of celebrating Hazel's life at 2:30 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Fanning of the Idaville Church of God officiating.
