Harold T. Jones, 82 of Monticello died at 8:25 am, Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital of Lafayette. He was born June 29, 1928 in Monon to the late Harvey and Grace (Rushon) Jones. He married Carolyn M. Kraay on June 2, 1962 in White County, and she survives. He was a veteran of the United States Air force serving from 1947 to 1953 and performed airplane maintenance during his enlistment. He had worked several years as a mechanic for Hubbard GM Center, and later worked for the State Highway from which he retired in 1990 after twenty-two years of employment. He had been a member of the American Legion. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Steven D. Jones of Monticello; two daughters, Luann (Gary) Hinton of Lafayette, Kimretta (David) Dubanski of Monon; two brothers, Richard Jones of Logansport, Ralph (Dianna) Jones of Florida; six grandchildren, Lance Jones, Joey Rayburn, Bryan Hinton, Charles Carrothers, Logan Beausoleil, and Vanesa Ragen; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Jones. Visitation will be from 4 pm until 7 pm, Tuesday, June 14 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating. Full military rites will follow services at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rural Monticello.
