Gary Douglas Baker

Gary D. Baker, 54, of Monticello, IN passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025.

Gary was born on August 10, 1970, in Kokomo, IN and was a 1989 graduate of Capital High School in Helena, Montana. After graduation, Gary enlisted in the United States Army into the 25th Infantry Field Artillery Battalion.

Gary was a dedicated member of his community. He spent his time coaching youth sports teams, helping those in need, and helping his neighbors. He did whatever he could for whoever needed it. Gary was a big advocate for all military and first responders - every light on his house was blue. He recently dedicated his hours building wooden crosses for fallen officers throughout the state, marking their remembrance sites.

Gary could always be found enjoying an ice-cold Pepsi and his Marlboro Red Cigarettes. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his boys, spoiling the dogs - Buddy and Morty - and spending time with Julie and her girls, who he treated as his own daughters. Gary never missed a moment to share a funny video or a random dad joke with you.

Gary is survived by his two sons who were his pride and joy, Tristan Baker (fiancé Meagan-Renee Tannenbaum) and Aidan Baker (girlfriend Madyson Fraze). He is also survived by his longtime partner, Julie White and her two daughters Macie Voss and Madison Voss.
