Frances B. Minnick, 84, of Monticello, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 12:45 a.m. at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She was born on February 7, 1924 in Ogden, IL to the late Robert Horace Van Hook and Hettie Florence (Van Over)Van Hook. Her marriage was Dewey Marion Minnick on November 17,1945 in Veedersburg, IN. He passed away on January 13, 2000. Mrs. Minnick was a charter member of the Lebanon Church of the Nazarene, and later became a member of the Monticello Church of the Nazarene where she was the church pianist and organist for several years, and was also the church treasurer 20 years. She was Co-Founder and Bookkeeper for Minnick Builders. She was a volunteer with Contact Help for a number years. She was a lifetime member of the DAV Auxillary and Shaferettes Home Ec Club. She was involved in the Womens Christian Temperance Union for 50 plus years. Mrs. Minnick was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, music, traveling, and bird watching. She is survived by 3 Sons, Larry D. (Charla) Minnick of Palatka, FL, Bill J. (Sandy) Minnick of Nineveh, IN, Butch (Barbara) Minnick of Yeoman, IN 2 Daughters, Bonnie S. (Lee) Emmert of Aurora, IN, Pamela A. (Tom) Mowrer of Monticello, IN Brother, Robert Dean Van Hook of Santa Cruz, CA; Sister, Ruth Alice (Melvin) Hiatt of Kenmore, WA 12 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, 5 step Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and One Brother, William Dale Van Hook. Visitation will be held from 4PM to 8PM, Friday, August 1, 2008 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, the funeral home built by Minnick Builders. The funeral service will be held at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Saturday, August 2, 2008, 10:30AM with Pastor Nord Zootman officiating. Private burial will be held at Lincoln Memory Garden Cemetery in Whitestown, Indiana Memorials may be made to the charity of the the Donors Choice.
