Ford Mcdaniel

Ford McDaniel, 81, of Monticello, passed away at 2:54 pm, Monday, July 23, 2018 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital.He was born on July 7, 1937 in Newport, Arkansas to the late Robert Lee and Virgie (Ford) McDaniel. On December 19, 1958 he married the former Margie Reed in McCrory, Arkansas and she survives.Ford was a member of Faith Covenant Fellowship Church.He was a crane operator and retired from L.T.V. Steel Company located on the South side of Chicago. Ford was a man of strong faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was an avid antique collector. He is also survived by his children, daughter, Mitzi (Julian) Gonzales of Porter, Nick McDaniel of Templeton, and Ford (Sherry) McDaniel, Jr. of Griffith; brothers, Fred McDaniel of Denver, Colorado and Chris J. (Judy) McDaniel of Kingsburg, CA; grandchildren, Christopher, Julie, Jessica, Eric, Jill, Jarad, Nikkita, and Casey; and 21 great grandchildren.He was also preceded in death by brothers, Earl Williams, Troy Marshal and Bobby McDaniel; and a sister, Jeffie-Ann Murphy. Visitation will be on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 4:00 pm until the time of memorial services celebrating Ford's life at 7:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Pastor Darl Clemons officiating.Memorial contributions may be given to the Faith Covenant Fellowship Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
