Flossie Mcelroy

Flossie B. McElroy, 76, of Monticello, passed away at 2:21 am, Friday, June 16, 2017 at I U Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.She was born on February 14, 1941 in Grancer, Kentucky to the late Prather and Artie (Embrey) Willoughby. On September 8, 1962, in Idaville, she married Ron McElroy and he preceded her in death November 12, 2000.Flossie worked for Bryan Manufacturing, RCA, MononTrailer, and retired from Indiana Packers in 2007. She was a hard worker and loved raising her family. After she retired, she cherished time spent helping care for her darling great-granddaughter, Cadence. She enjoyed watching movies and dancing.She is survived by daughter, Vickie (Roger) Abernathy of Monticello; siblings, Vasta (Jerry) Budreau of Logansport, Dorothy Harris of Delphi, Glen (Nancy) Willioughby of Monticello, Dale (Trish) Willoughby of Fort Wayne; two granddaughters, Joni McAleer of Monticello, Hannah McElroy of Lafayette; and great-granddaughter Cadence McAleer.She was also preceded in death by a son, Rick McElroy; and siblings, Gusta Altman, David Willoughby, Jay Willoughby, and RA Willoughby. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, June 19, 2017 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.Funeral services celebrating Flossie's life will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at the funeral home with Chad Hostetler officiating.
