Fern O. Clerget Werner,96, of Monon, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008, at 4:20 a.m., at Whispering Pines Rehabilitation Center, Monticello. She was born August 6, 1911 in Monon Township, IN to the late Loyd Thrasher and the late Gertrude (Conn) Thrasher. Her first marriage was Morris Clerget on June 6, 1932, at Crown Point, IN. He preceeded her in death in April of 1967. Her second marriage was to Nathan Werner in 1970. He also preceeded her in death. Mrs. Werner was affiliated with the Monon United Methodist Church. She was a 1929 Graduate of Reynolds High School. She was a homemaker and a farm wife. She and her first husband, Morris Clerget, farmed together until his death in 1967. She was a member of the Indiana Farm Bureau for many years. She liked to crochet and knit. She enjoyed being outdoors and raised rabbits and chickens. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog Boots. Survivors include: Daughter, Alene (Gene) McKinley of Monon; Son, Loyd (Leatha) Clerget of Monticello; Son-in-Law, Robert (Melba) Fleck of Reynolds; 15 Grandchildren; 31 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents; both husbands; daughter, Joyce Fleck; one brother, Dean Thrasher; and infant sister, Ruth Thrasher. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m., Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello. Funeral services will be conducted at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monday, February 4, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with Mr. Brad Burton officiating. Burial will take place at Bedford Cemetery, Monon. Memorials may be made to the Monon United Methodist Church.
